    I think I have experienced that problem too.

    What I have noticed is that though a call may be established as G729 when checking the stats on each phone, the "show gatekeeper call" shows 128k.

    But the way I solve it is by changing the Service Parameter on CCM to enable BRQ.

    Not sure if it is 100% the same problem you had, but then both issues are very closely related.
